Rosemary (Powers) Booker, 86, of Schenectady, New York passed away on September 17, 2016 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, William Booker, in the year 2000.

Rosemary was born in Cambridge, MA to the late Joseph R. Powers and Agnes (Roche) Powers.

Rosemary graduated from Saint Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Maryland where she was a chemistry major and graduated #1 in her class. She worked at Sylvania in the Boston area before marrying her beloved husband “Bill” in 1954 and moving to Charlottesville, Virginia. They eventually relocated to Schenectady, New York in 1960 where Bill took a job with General Electric.

Rosemary had a keen intellect and was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams. She was a gracious hostess to all who wanted to come and visit for the races in Saratoga every August. Rosemary and Bill enjoyed traveling together and entertaining, especially for bridge games. Rosemary had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all.

Rosemary was an active member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha church (formerly Our Lady of Fatima) before residing at Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Schenectady, New York.

She is survived by her sister Joanne (Powers) Roach of Wellesley, MA and her husband Richard Roach as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband Bill, she is predeceased by her brother Edward Roche Powers and his wife Kathleen (Walsh) Powers. She also leaves her dear friends Bill and Mary Jane Beaulieu, and Bill and Mary Liz Leitch of Schenectady, New York.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 1st at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish (formerly Our Lady of Fatima ), Rosa Road, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Friday, September 30th from 5pm to 7pm at the Jones funeral home, 1503 Union St. , (at McClellan St ), Schenectady.
Friday, Sept. 30 from 5p-7p and Saturday, Oct. 1 for funeral.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Kateri Tekakwitha church.
