Carolyn Fisk Kennedy, MD, 85, of Niskayuna, NY passed away Saturday morning September 30, 2017 at Ellis Hospital with family by her side.

Carolyn was born February 18, 1932 in Albany, NY to Harry & Elizabeth O. Fisk. Carolyn was a graduate of University of Michigan (1953) and received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1957. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, James Rogers Kennedy, MD. She is survived by her son Stephen M. Kennedy and his wife Ruby of Bedford, MA; her son Paul Rogers Kennedy and his wife Francesca; her daughter Elizabeth E. Kennedy of Niskayuna, NY; and five grandchildren.

Carolyn and James moved to Schenectady in 1962. After finishing up her residency at Albany Medical Center in 1968, Carolyn started out with an OB/GYN practice in Albany, NY, before opening her own practice in Schenectady, NY. Later on she and Dr. Katy Irani joined forces and opened a female practitioner, GYN practice on New Karner Road in Albany, NY, until she retired in 1993. Throughout her entire career, she was well respected in the community and beloved by her patients.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and support staff at Ellis Hospital and Community Hospice for their compassion, care and thoughtfulness bestowed upon Carolyn during her stay there.

Per Carolyn's request, there will not be any services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers or for those who wish to memorialize Carolyn Fisk Kennedy in a special way, the family requests that gifts to Albany Medical College Alumni Association, (Carolyn Fisk Alumni Scholarship Fund), 47 New Scotland Avenue MC-5, Albany, NY 12208, be considered.
